Eurovision Song Contest
Abba were the winners of the 1974 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It was held at the Dome, the Art Deco style concert hall, on 6th April, in Brighton. The televised event was presented by Katie Boyle. They performed eighth on the evening, singing the English-language version of Waterloo. California Jam
Saturday 6th April was also the date of California Jam, a rock concert attended by 200,000 at the Ontario motor speedway. A cut-out rainbow, behind the speaker stacks, was used as a stage prop.
